Your nutritionist

I am a Finnish born, London- Dubai based mother of three. I am passionate about helping other women to feel at peace with their eating whilst achieving their optimal weight without drastic diets that are usually devoid of nutrients.

As a Nutritional Therapist and a Health Coach, my methods include coaching & reflection alongside personalised programme content. I believe that each woman I work with can achieve their best shape, mindset and live guilt-free where food is a friend, not an enemy.

My successful weight loss programme focuses on encouraging you to eat ‘real’ nutritious foods, learn new, simple recipes and be more organised around your food choices.

Join the journey with me

I am a foodie with a relaxed attitude towards eating. My personal diet follows the 80/20 rule, which means that I try to consume healthy, nutritious foods 80% of the day, but I also allow flexibility and occasional treats into my diet.

As a mother of three small children, I value quick and healthy choices and for that reason, my programme’s menus are light, healthy and fuss-free: everyone can do it no matter how busy you are.

My food philosophy focuses on good ingredients, simple cooking methods and a variety of foods. Moreover, I often remind my clients that I am not a food blogger – I am a nutritional therapist & coach – whose main goal is to help you overcome your health concerns, achieve weight goals or beat illnesses, and that includes much more than providing superfood smoothie or gluten-free bread recipes.

Women’s health issues and weight loss started to interest me when I managed to heal my own hormonal related problems through diet and lifestyle changes. After going through pregnancies, post-natal periods and raising little human beings, I can strongly relate to women and mothers, understanding how hard it is to look after yourself and eat well, as it always tends to be kids and family first. For that reason, my main mission is to offer services that are effective, manageable, and motivating so everyone can become the best possible version of themselves.

Let me help you and start your journey to a fresher relationship with food with me,

Sonia

My Work

I practice a holistic approach to health, nutrition and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress in your job, a busy family life or your relationship cause you to over eat or to neglect your diet? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?

As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I work ’top to toe’ through your body to be able to identify the root cause of your health concern and I will guide you to further investigations if needed.

Even though I have a naturopathic approach, meaning I try to treat every health concern through your diet, supplements and lifestyle, I do advise and guide my clients to conventional medical treatments if needed. Safety is always my number one priority.

All Nutrition packages are tailored according to individual needs and personal goals, and the length varies from just a few sessions to long-term co-operation.

My Approach

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins or create lists of restrictions of good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create healthy and balanced eating habits in a way that is flexible, motivating and the results will be long lasting.

Learning the basics of healthy eating and adding nutritious, healing foods on your plate can do miracles. I always try to create practical tips, simple and quick recipes for clients to ensure that everything is manageable and fuss-free.

However, if clients are really serious about overcoming their illnesses or health issues, it does require a total mind shift and a lot of patience. The diet is the first and most powerful part of the process, though I do also encourage clients to address the importance of exercising and relaxation.

My Qualifications

Being a nutritionist means lifelong learning and further education. Weekly publications of new scientific and medical studies and the latest findings in the field of nutrition and the human body requires that I am constantly aware and open for new information and suitably adapt changes to my work. Nutritional recommendations, guidelines or current frameworks of an optimal diet are ever changing and my work and mission is to always provide services that are safe, effective and based on the latest research in the area of nutrition and health.

Qualifications:

  • Naturopathic Nutrition Therapist Diploma (CNM London 2014)

  • Sport Medicine Diploma (Open University of Finland 2008)
  • Personal Trainer (FAF Finland 2007)
  • Pilates Instructor Diploma (Finland 2004)

I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutrition Therapy (BANT) and the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). To ensure safe practice, I am fully insured by Balens.
